Picking the BEST Lawyers in YOUR Area

You already know how important lawyers are if you’ve been to court in the past. Lawyers have bad reputations, but you need one if you want to win your case. How can you find the best option? Check out the below article to learn tips on doing these things correctly.

Pick a good attorney on your OWN terms - don't let them pick you.

Pick a good attorney on your OWN terms – don’t let them pick you.

Always get a history of the lawyer to look at before you retain him. Having a practice does not make them a good lawyer. Be aware of their record so you can be sure they will do a good job. A company that we have used in the past that has done an awesome job for us is the Mast Firm in Smithfield NC.

Ask any lawyers that you are considering for a list of their fees. Fees can vary greatly; therefore, it’s best to thoroughly understand the fees before signing any agreement. You do not want to lose your lawyer after your matter has already proceeded because you lack the funds.

When lawyers are coming for you, pass on them. This is likely to be some sort of scam, particularly if you are dealing with an expensive issue. It is best to stay away from these lawyers and find a professional who does not need to reach out to potential clients.

Make sure you lawyer is easily reached when they are needed. A common complaint among people is that their lawyer is hard to reach. Choose a lawyer who has an efficient support staff so getting in touch with them is easier.

Many people find it wise to keep an attorney on retainer. This will allow you not to be under too much pressure so you’re able to take some time when you’re looking for a trustworthy lawyer. Keep a good lawyer on retainer so you can get legal advice anytime you need.

Avoid handing over big retainers to lawyers prior to them taking your case. If they state that they will not work with you otherwise, discuss the terms and conditions surrounding the retainer. You may also want to shop around for lawyers who will take a smaller retainer, then charge you any extra.

Be realistic about what you can spend. You may have a case, but can you afford it? Research the costs of similar cases charged by attorneys you are considering. Discuss your goals and your budget with any lawyer you are considering hiring. Take note of what cost overruns may occur and insist the lawyer needs your permission to go over a certain amount.

Finding an attorney that you get along with makes the process easier. If you do not feel comfortable with the lawyer during your first few meetings, you will never have an ideal client-lawyer relationship no matter how experienced the lawyer is. Your gut is truly the best judge of character.

Ask your lawyer if you can personally do any work so that will help cut down costs you have to pay them. You may be able to help get the paperwork ready. If you must get documents at the courthouse, inquire about getting them picked up by yourself so you don’t have to pay the law office for it.

Hopefully, you’re now much more prepared for finding and dealing with a lawyer. This will allow you an edge over the opposition when you go to court. Use the tips you just read and take your time to find a good lawyer. The more knowledge you have, the better your chances are of winning.

Getting the MOST out of your site!

A good business website always incorporates SEO techniques into their marketing mix. This makes search engines, such as Google, show your website higher up on the results. Read further and we will share some valuable tips with you.

Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization

Break up long articles into shorter parts. Long pages are weighed less and short ones weigh more. Visitors are also not likely to read an article in its entirety if it is overly long.

Prove to your audience that you are an expert in your niche. This is a profitable way to market your sites. Using proper SEO on a designated niche site is crucial to getting your site and products found in searches. You have to give your customers what they actually want to buy, not what you believe they want.  We trust THESE guys for solid top inbound search engine marketing work –

Use an accurate title tag to make sure that search engines will understand your page content. Bear in mind that most search engines do not process title tag content beyond 60 characters. Tags generally carry less weight past that point anyway.

A site map is an easy way to improve your search engine ranking. This sitemap page gathers every link on your site, all in one place. This will increase your visibility through SEO and increase traffic directed to your site.

Try including transcripts for videos or audio you post to your site. When you offer these transcripts, search engines can then categorize your content and position it properly in its listings. Speaking of videos – want the thumbnail back that you may have lost recently?  Think about a video thumbnail instead.  We’re just sayin’…  Want to know more?  Talk to them over at

Keywords MUST come first

Start by doing keyword research. Find out which keywords you need to focus on when building your website and titles. Knowing how people search for your business will help you find appropriate keywords. Mention these keywords often to increase your site traffic.  Don’t go over 2% though – it used to be wide open with those keyword-laden pages getting upwards of 8-10% of the content. No more.  No higher than 2% – anything more and you will get dinged for keyword stuffing!

Including captions on your webpage is one of the best ways to optimize your site. If you post photos and newsy articles, use these opportunities to post keyword-rich captions.

While you may think your website is great, not one website can be perfect. When you accept that you’re fallible, you can start to identify areas for improvement so that you can make your site more efficient. Don’t ever allow your concepts to go stale.  Your site may be perfect once – at that exact moment that you finish optimizing it.  By the next day, Google will likely have changed the algorithms – and thrown a  whole new set of wrinkles into your strategy. It’s just part of maintaining any type of website these days!

There’s a lot to search engine optimization, but as was stated earlier in the article, it’s absolutely essential to make sure your website gets the business it deserves. Make sure to apply these techniques to your website, as soon as possible, so that you can start getting more customers and more profits.

Your Legal Site and the Search Engines

Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization

Is your business, legal or otherwise, one that would do better if it were ranked locally in the search engines? You will find below three powerful suggestions that you can implement immediately that will help you make your way to the top.

The best tip you can get local SEO would be to get into your customer’s shoes and think like them. If you want to understand how your customers search online you need to learn how they think. So, the idea is that you need to try and figure out what a customer/searcher would use to find the type of products you are selling or your site. We were just working on a local attorney site not too long ago and spent some time looking at local searches – with a mind and eye towards the particular verbiage that someone in the area was likely to use to find these local attorneys.  Since they were in the county seat, it was a foregone conclusion that we would want to rank them for that particular town, but how to rank them for other localities? By county, by town, by local community name (which sometimes can differ greatly from what your maps show)?

Regional lingo can make a huge difference in the search terms at times. There’s a local place outside of Raleigh known as “Cleveland.”  While there actually IS a Cleveland NC, around here our area is referred to as Cleveland and so we rank for it – even though it isn’t necessarily a big traffic getter, for thoroughness, we rank it.  It is also next to another area called 4042 – and of course, you guessed it – it’s not on a map, but it IS locally known and searched – so we ranked that one as well.  It really pays to know the area you’re working with and in.  Think like your customers and you’ll never go wrong.  If you are looking for a great local company in the Raleigh NC area,  look for for your Raleigh SEO needs.  They handle a variety of customers and tend to keep it small and cozy – not a major “We have hundreds of clients” type player.  Just results, no mass marketing.

If you try to list your business many times to a local directory, you’ll find that they frown on that practice. So keeping this rule in mind, you should try to have different landing pages for different locations. Even though you’re not allowed to have more than one local listing, you definitely can have more than one location for your business. What you would do is merely point people to the particular site page that has all the locations for your business. Don’t send people from the listings directly to your site, send them to different landing pages.

Last but not the least; make sure you have your complete mailing address mentioned all over your site, on every page. This is a courtesy for your visitors, and they’ll be able to see where you are without navigating away. There are more things involved with local SEO than this, so be sure to learn about them. All in all, local SEO is here to stay and it will just grow with time. You need to make sure you are using it to its fullest potential now, before things get rough.

Raleigh Legal Computer Support

Support Law Offices in Raleigh TriangleInterested in finding solid PC support for your law office? Finding a solid pc computer repair company to call when YOU have your own problems is important. Knowing that they’ll be available, knowing that they can be there quickly, and knowing that they can handle your problem whatever it is – that’s what you need.

We know you use a lot of specialized software. Amicus, Abacus, SoftPro – we’ve worked with these packages and more. We work with standard office software such as Microsoft Office, antivirus applications including Symantec, AVG, Avast, and many others. Adobe applications including Acrobat are almost always a necessity in law. Setting up Quickbooks, Peachtree Accounting and more. While we are NOT a replacement for your accountant’s advice in these kinds of applications, we can make these run beautifully for you either locally or via a server type setup from a software perspective.

Is your practice currently backing all those machines up? Are you getting local backups on a regular basis and even more importantly, are you making sure those same records and data pieces are being stashed someplace off-site? We’re amazed by the offices we visit that do have local backups going on – but what happens when something locally devastating happens? Here in North Carolina, we’re often faced with tornadoes and hurricanes. That local backup won’t do you much good if it’s 10 miles down the road carried off by a tornado.
We can setup very safe and secure off-site cloud backups for your office in just one visit. Ensuring that you can open up shop anytime anyplace and have all your data available to you is serious peace of mind.
