Virginia Z. Houser
Virginia Houser’s practice includes business, insurance, and environmental litigation; securities and commodities arbitration, litigation, and regulatory matters; and class action, product liability, whistleblower, and other civil litigation. She received her undergraduate degree from Marymount College and her law degree form Fordham University School of Law, where she was a member of its International Law Journal. While practicing in New York, Virginia was counsel to the Arbitration Committee at the Coffee Sugar and Cocoa Exchange and Compliance Counsel at The Mercantile Exchange, where she prosecuted members’ violations of the Commodity Exchange Act. Virginia then served as general counsel at a “futures commission merchant” which traded spot commodities as well as exchange traded futures. The company maintained retail commodity branches as well a securities broker-dealer. After relocating to Florida she has litigated a wide variety of securities, finance, class action, and other complex cases. Virginia is a member of The Florida Bar. She is also admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Eleventh and Second Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Middle District of Florida and the District of New Jersey. Virginia is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA). |
