ATTORNEY PROFILES
Mark H. Cibula
Mark
is an experienced trial attorney and has handled all aspects of litigation from
start to finish, including successful appeals. Mark specializes in personal
injury law, business litigation and criminal defense.
A dedicated member of the community, Mark has been the Mayor of the City of
Redding and served on the Redding City Council, Redding Redevelopment Agency,
Redding Area Bus Authority and Redding Housing Authority. He is a past President
of the Shasta Trinity Counties Bar Association and has also been on the Board
of Directors for many community organizations including North State Blood Center
and Shasta Housing Corporation. Mark is presently a member of the Shasta County
Board of Supervisors.
Having received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Berkeley in 1987,
Mark Hanbury Cibula went on to receive his Master of Arts in 1989 from the University
of Southern California, Anneberg School of Communications. He then worked as
a United States Congressional Assistant. In 1994, he received his Juris Doctorate
from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. During law school, Mark
worked for 2 years for the United States Attorney, becoming Chief Law Clerk.
Mark joined his father at Cibula & Cibula in 1994.
When Mark does find “down time”, he enjoys fly fishing, archaeology,
history and swimming.
Franklin S. Cibula
Mr. Cibula has particular expertise in business litigation and transactional
law, as well as all aspects of real estate transactions. He has over 35 years
of trial experience and is past President of the Shasta Trinity Counties Bar
Association, as well as past Chairman of Attorneys to meet with the California
Medical Association.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Cibula has been involved in wide ranging
business interests as President of Redding Title Company, President of Christian
Lumber Company, Vice President of Santa Cruz Title Company, Vice President of
Sacramento 76 Truck Stop, President of Jimboy’s Tacos, owner of Western
Hotel, Shelter Cove Motel Inn, and Julian’s Castle in Belize.
Franklin S. Cibula was born July 7, 1941, and is a lifetime resident of Shasta County,
where he graduated from Shasta Union High School in 1958.
Franklin was a four-year letterman in swimming and was honored by the Jonathon
Swaley award, as well as debating in the commencement Whig Clio Debate. He graduated
Cum Laude in Economics in 1962 from Princeton University.
Mr. Cibula was a Class Representative at Boalt Hall at the University of California
in Berkeley, where he graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 1965. Franklin was
an administrative assistant for Assemblywoman Pauline Davis and was Regional
Director for Northern California with the Democratic Party. Mr. Cibula has worked
on State Boards, including the California Counsel fro Criminal Justice.
